This month’s row design for the In My Neighborhood quilt along is provided by Uncle Paul’s Quilt Company out of Utah. If you missed the first row, you can catch up rather quickly from Quilter Chic before you scoot over to this month’s design.
Paul brought us Pinwheels in the Garden for row 2 with a mix of piecing and applique techniques. I stuck to some florals and a mix of prints for the pinwheels to go with my purple background.
Paul recommended using buttons in the middle of the applique flowers, but if you’re going to hand your finished top over to a longarmer for quilting, you will want to wait to attach those after the quilting in done (or you’ll have to pay extra for them to go around them). Or you can fake the buttons like I did by using a polka dot print in the center!
